I don’t know about you but I am tired of going out to the same bars every weekend and hearing the same music played over and over again. So I was delighted to hear that a new club for the LGBT Community is opening and opening very soon, April 4th (10pm kids be there!). Welcome Club Carnival (formerly Vino)! Reno’s first club with a V.I.P. lounge area and bottle service and get this…..a private restroom for the V.I.P’s. How sweet is that?!

I had a chance to talk with the entertainment coordinator for Club Carnival, DJ Fierce. Fierce has been DJ’ing to the LGBT community for 6 years and is a huge supporter of our community. When he found out that Vino was available for rent he knew immediately what Reno needed; an upscale club for our community. The exciting thing about Club Carnival is this will be like no club Reno has ever seen! With great DJ’s like Fierce spinning on Fridays and Christophe on Saturdays, unique entertainment such as Magicians, Tarot Readers, Jugglers, and drag shows. It has been long over due for Reno to have a club like this. What I also love about the people behind this is the fact that they want to know what we as a community want for this club! If you have a myspace account befriend Club Carnival and give them your input on what music you want to hear, what entertainment you want to see in this club.

No doubt this place will be hoppin’! Everybody loves a new bar and I have a feeling this is where you will end up on the night of Reno Gay Pride. And why not?! It’s just a few blocks away from Wingfield Park where the festivities for our gayest of days will be held! I am so excited to have this club opening and just in time for the good weather ahead! I have a feeling that this will be the new choice for the LGBT Community to spend their party weekends at!

So please join us on Friday April 4th at 10pm to celebrate in the welcoming of Club Carnival (240 N. Sierra St).
There is a five dollar cover charge and drink specials and music ranging from Top 40 to disco to house.

See you there!

Well this place isn't even Carnival anymore. I personally believe that they should make it carnival again!

At first everything was good as Carnival. They had go go dancers, great amount of gay/lesbian people. And was usually busy. But then when the DJ was upsetting people because he wouldn't play the requests and the go go dancers were "laid off", everything became dead....!

So now what.. all night the music is going, people just walk by... it's always dead... and why?? I think it's because they turned it back to Vino. I mean.. the owner of Vino needs to realize that Vino is going to fail if they're right next door to 210 N. I mean 210 N. is a straight place. And you can call Vino "an all welcome" club, but it's really never going to work out. Because everyone is going to go to 210 N.

Alex, please! Reopen Carnival and really advertise this time! You've gotta admit... when Carnival opened up, go go dancers, and that woman entertaining the crowd with microphone and all- it was good. Alot better than it is now! So reopen! Because you won't last much longer being a mostly all straight club, right next to another:(

If anyone else agrees please leave your feedback! I think Carnival needs to reopen again! It was the only "top notch" experience club the gay/lesbian community had:(
