Ne-Yo - Year of the Gentlemen
I fell in love with Ne-You when I heard his first single So Sick off his first album In My Own Words. His third album Year of the Gentlemen is full of tight melodies and beats about love, loss and sex. This album was produced by three time Grammy winner L.A. Reid who has produced for Usher, Pink, Kanye West, Melissa Etheridge and Rihanna.
The first single off this album was “Closer”. It is one of the more upbeat songs on the album. “Miss Independent” and “Mad” have been getting a lot of air play on the radio as well. Not only does Ne-Yo have a sexy voice he is sexy.

Mama Mia Soundtrack
Not only was the movie cute but I love the soundtrack. I thought it would be just another ABBA soundtrack and it is, but with the cast of the movie singing. Colin Firth, Merly Streep and Christine Baranski lend their voice to classic ABBA songs. The one actress that surprised me was Amanda Seyfried. You may know her from the HBO show BIG LOVE. “I Have a Dream” is my absolute favorite. This cd is for the pop culture junkie or the die hard ABBA fan.

Global Groove: Live 4
DJ Scotty K, the original Ellen Degeneres show dj is mixing up the latest grooves on the cd. I don’t remember him on that show. He remixes Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” and Linkin Park’s mega hit “Shadow of the Day”. DJ Scotty K also remixes Tiffany’s new song “Dust off and Dance”. Tiffany? Most of you might not have been born when she started.
Centaur is taking DJ Scotty K on the road for a Global Groove Tour. The closest it will get to our city is San Francisco on November 29th at Industry. You can download a free song at http://gg4.soundpost.com.

Missy Higgins – On A Clear Night
Openly bi-sexual singer Miss Higgins has been selling out venues across the US but apparently can’t sell in Reno. Her show on November 8th with Joshua Rudin got cancelled.
Missy Higgins is from Australia and writes all of her music. The first song on this cd is “Where I Stood”. It has been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS and Lipstick Jungle. She is very gender neutral in most of her songs. One song that isn’t neutral and my favorite is “Angela”. …. Angela, Angela you’re a danger he’s addicted to. If your like the style of Lucinda Williams, Sarah Mclachlan then you will probably love Missy Higgins.
