The 5 Star Saloon, located on West Street between First and Second, is a funky, eclectic bar in the Arts District of Downtown Reno. Friendly service and great drinks definitely add to the environment of this bar. With no cover charge ever (even on New Year’s Eve) we don’t understand why more people don’t frequent this establishment. The well vodka is Skyy, which is better than most bars serve and with bartenders Tiffany Mayorga (the fabulous videographer/artist), Jay, and Anthony, the fun never stops. All this plus an amazing mix of music definitely make the 5 Star Saloon a first stop on a fabulous Saturday night out!
We give the 5 Star Saloon, 5 Stars…errr...5 Martinis. Straight up! ![]()
p.s. Did you know Tiffany painted the mural at the entrance to 5 Star Saloon?

I've just started going there more...it's a cool place. Beware of the cage!
I just moved to town and I have to say that this bar is great fun. The staff is friendly and laid back, the music is good, and the crowd is nice.
This bar reminds me of a couple of places in Seattle, Washington with good bartenders and turnout.
The Positives:
1. The actual Bar at this club is long and has plenty of seating for trios and the like.
2. The drinks are plentiful and there's a wide variety.
3. There are undamaged pool tables with couch seating... COUCH seating. I amazed that they are able to keep those things clean.
4. The dance floor has plenty of side seating and is an appropriate size for the bar as a whole.
5. There is a stage for performances and they do have performances. The stage also does not take up the dance floor just in case some people want to dance at the performer's calling.
6. It's in downtown Reno with an eclectic mix of visitors and residents.
The bar doesn't have too many REAL negative aspects. A few touch ups here and there may help draw more people. Here are some ideas:
1. Remove the cage and put more couch seating.
2. Touch up the bathrooms. Just because they are in the back of the bar doesn't mean potty honed patrons won't notice the things that make them not so great.
3. Move the community newsletters and widen the space between the pool tables and the dance floor. That area gets a bit crowded.
4. The DJ, is there?! Try to make the DJ booth a little more appealing to the eye maybe move the DJ to the stage when there isn't a performance (wiring permitting).
All in all, this bar is in the top 3 places to go to in Reno. Keep up the good work.
