Spectrum Scholarship Fund - 2010

Spectrum just opened up their first scholarship opportunity for those of you interested in attending or already attending college.

Here are the details:

Scholarship Requirements:

* Applications must be filled out completely including signature
* New college enrollees and/or immediate post-high school applicants: include three (3) reference letters
* The winner of the Scholarship must serve on the Spectrum Board of Directors for 2 years
* Write a one page essay on what this scholarship would mean to you
* All submissions are due by June 11, 2010.

Who is Spectrum Northern Nevada?
Spectrum Northern Nevada, founded in 1998, provides an outlet for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community outside of the bar scene. Our mission is creating safe and accepting social networks and events for members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Questioning (GLBT-Q) community and their advocates.

Who may apply for a Spectrum Northern Nevada Scholarship?
Any GLBT-Q person who is pursuing a course of study at a Northern Nevada College. Scholarships may be used for undergraduate or graduate studies.

How are the applications reviewed?
Applications are reviewed by the current Spectrum Northern Nevada Board of Directors.

*Immediate Family or Domestic Partners of Board Members are not eligible for Scholarships

How much money can I apply for?
Spectrum will be donating a maximum of $500 in scholarships each year. This can be one recipient or several at the discretion of the current Board of Directors.

Spectrum Northern Nevada reserves the right to not award any scholarships in a calendar year.
